Funeral Plans

What is a Funeral Plan?

A Funeral plan is a way of paying for your funeral in advance. There are many advantages to doing this including:

  • Protecting your family from rising funeral costs. According to the 2014 Sunlife Cost of Dying Report the average cost of a funeral in 2004 was £1920, rising to £3590 by 2014. Other sources calculate that Funeral costs rose by an average of 6.33% every year between 2007 and 2015. A pre-paid funeral plan locks in your funeral at today's prices and could save your loved ones a lot of money.
  • A funeral plan allows you to specify exactly how you would like your funeral to be carried out. This can cover the big decisions (cremation or burial for example) to the small things (what music or flowers to have) eliminating any uncertainty for your loved ones.
  • There are a range of packages and payment options available, from paying in one installment to spreading the cost over up to 10 years, allowing you to benefit from today's prices even if you don't have the budget to pay in full.
